Welcome to the garage! My name is Zane and I have a soft spot for old iron. My videos vary from working on old trucks, restoring vintage tools, rescuing old iron from a would-be grave and everything in between. I also dabble in exploring old salvage yards to see what's been left behind to rust away.

“No signal” omg I had a laugh! 😂 -Great work, Zane! I don’t know, again! how this have passed me! I absolutely dig the progress on the property. I’m in fact looking at different properties myself these days if I will manage the crazy task of moving all my shit! Quite satisfied with your progress in the meanwhile!
Hey there Eirik!! 😁 Hopefully the property search goes well for you!
Take out injectors, is it for sale?
Thanks for the suggestion Arnold 🙂👍 Injectors have been pulled and we took the cylinder head off. As soon as summers over, we're gunna get back to the tractor. Thanks for watching 🔧🔩
Classic car revivals sent me to your channel. I subscribed. The content is great 👍
Thanks for the kind words! 😁👍 I'll have to check out your channel when I get a minute 🔧🔩
How did I miss this video! Awesome models man would love to see your other stashed models The comic book still in there NEAT !
@midwestmodeler5643 thanks for stopping by Rusty 🙂👍 I like the logo you made for your channel! 👀
@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE thanks for noticing! I am trying to get better ! Wish you well !
These diesel 35 Massey Ferguson tractors are really tough, we call them a 'Fergie' in Australia. Enjoying your project with her rebuild.
@stephenbell8323 thanks for the view and kind comment 🙂👍
You fella's need a socket wrench set.
Oh, there is a set in the shop. We were just working in the heat and were losing track of where the tools were. Thanks for stopping by 🙂👍
I use to own one of these tractors, exactly the same! At least twice I had same issues with the gears and the method to to fix was the same as you found out about. It was a fantastic little tractor and I wish that I still owned it.
Luckily it's an easy fix 🙂👍 Thanks for stopping by Stephen 🔧🔩
I've got a 64 IH truck as well. Where did you find the size of the engine? I been scratching my head for quite a while.😅
The numbers are located on a flat pad on the block near the fuel pump 🙂👍 Thanks for stopping by Demetrius 🔧
@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE thanks. We're going to pull the engine anyway, so we'll clean it up and be able to read it at that point.👍
Currently looking at buying one of these. Can’t seem to find any info on the front axle. You happen to know what it is? And or gearing options? Thanks! Great channel.
Thanks for the kind words 🙂👍 I've seen quite a few of these trucks for sale recently on marketplace. Most times it seems they are listed as just regular "F600's" and not "F600 4x4's." I lucked out with mine and found it for sale locally. These axles are just your typical Rockwell's found in military trucks. Ton-and-a-half trucks to be exact. The 5-ton's have heavier duty "top loader" axles if I remember correctly. The axles are geared low as well. I think the top speed of those deuce and a half's are 50ish MPH 🔧🔩
That stuff works great!
Very true Rusty! 😁👍 Thanks for stopping by my friend 🔧🔩
Hi there we have the same truck, bit rusted, but all lioks ok, chassis, cab, fenders, doors and bonnet and grill 4x4 S120 1956 model, we thinking of restoring, who do you use for spares?
Unfortunately there are not many aftermarket parts for these trucks. I don't believe any companies make patch panels for the body. You almost have to search and find trucks being parted out to find what you need. Thank you for the view and comment and sorry I couldn't be more helpful. 🔧🔩
@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE thanks so much
Great to see you investing in the channel, what I mean is cleaning up to make the projects easier to work on. Looks good! I always like how when people talk about a dozer size and always compare to a Cat model as a reference 😂. Looking forward to more stuff don’t worry about how often you post - if anyone gets that it me! Take care bud happy wrenching 🔧
Thanks for the kind comment Nathan! 😁👍 It's been a work in progress. Hopefully things have been good your way. Happy wrenching my friend 🔧🔩
Really cool stuff Zane. I have the same Stanley tape in the kitchen drawer. Been there for years, the Missus is always measuring for curtains, shades or counter space for something. I also have a Proto set that go from about 1 1/2 to (I think) 2 1/2 by eighths. Fifty bucks at a flea market years ago. I could be slightly off on that, but its a great set for sure. Then before I retired a customer gave me a NOS unopened 56 Ford 3/4 ton that matches my dad's 56 down in the lean-to. Cool stuff my friend. Rainy days ARE fun shop days !!
Nice buy on the Proto's Wendell 😁👍 I appreciate you stopping by my friend. Yes, sometimes it's just best to stay inside and work on the shop. Cleaning or fixing the small stuff. Have a wonderful weekend 🔧🔩
Sorry miss this
No need to be sorry Jeremy, glad you stopped by 🙂👍 Have a great weekend and be safe out there 🔧🔩
Such a great job Zane. I know it took a ton of work off camera to make that happen, but it looks like it was well worth it. Can’t wait to see ya get back to wrenchin😀👍
@ydocproductions5593 thanks Cody!! 😁👍 It means a lot! Happy wrenching 🔧
Nice job on getting it cleaned up & organized! I've been building a shop for the last 20 years. Still need to put my lift up though! Keep at it, you'll get there!
@WesleyJohnsonMI oh yeah buddy, life gets in the way. Thanks for stopping by 😁👍
Cleanup looks great! Was down in your state a week ago coming back from Tennessee/Georgia.. probably nowhere close to you...i need to get going on vids again.. getting the itch, just a lot of other things going on...
I understand Jon, but I believe in you 🙂👍 Get back at it my friend 🔧🔩
@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE 😆.. putting the transmission back in this 93 I have.. so dang hot though.. 95 in the shop and no breeze.. think I'll wait until morning to finish it lol... leanna will be home before long and I'm a mess.
Looking good Zane. Cool idea with the axle. You're not alone wanting a lift, someday. The really old 20's/30's trucks would be neat to see up close and maybe made into something.
Thanks for the view and kind words *CRR Pop* 😁👍 They both mean a lot my friend. Hopefully I can get one of them running. Happy wrenching 🔧🔩
👍😁
Thanks for tuning in Bob 🙂👍
Getting things done! Good to see you back Zane! Always enjoy your videos!
Thanks for the kind words Brandon 🙂👍 Have a nice evening and I will talk to you later 🔧🔩
Made a lot of progress.
Thanks for the kind comment MA 🙂👍 Talk to you later 🔧
Progress is progress just do the best you can
Very true Nathan! 😁👍 Thanks for stopping by my friend 🔧🔩
Huge upgrade zano!!! I had this same deal at my grandpas place and unfortunately most of it went to the shredders..
Thanks Bo! 😁👍❤ Yeah, it's a shame sometimes when cool stuff gets scrapped but you can't save it all. Thanks for watching the video buddy 🔧🔩 It means a lot!
Zane my man what's up with the 4x4 roll back , will it be back anytime soon
Should be next video or the one after Glenn 🙂👍 Going to get back on the truck before winter. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week my friend. 🔧🔩
Progress is progress!!!
Very true Dan! 😁👍 Happy wrenching my friend 🔧🔩
Steps in the right direction....I feel you my friend, an 8-12 hour long project can extend into 2-3 weeks of worth of work in my time. Keep on wrenching! 🔧👍😁
Very true Andy! 😁👍 You know how it goes. Thanks for stopping by and be safe 🔧🔩
Sweet finds indeed Zane! Catching a video while on break. Intriguing wrench with both metric and sae stampings on it! Also tins are in great shape overall and like the model kits! Stay safe my friend, blessings and respect!
Thanks for watching, especially while at work David! 😁👍 Happy wrenching my friend and be safe out there 🔧🔩
Is that 4 door step side dodge factory? That things neat!
@Thecasey34 sure is 🙂👍 It's a 1963 w200, so it's 2wd and a three quarter ton. I would love to put it on air ride
@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE wow I’d pay to see that! You definitely don’t see many of those if ever!
@Thecasey34 thanks for the kind words 🙂👍 Hopefully I can do a video on the truck before winter. 🔩
@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE I know you’re a busy man but would definitely love to see more vids.
Hi zane good to see you back buddy those 5 minute jobs take forever somtimes . Cheers mate🇦🇺
Oh yeah, you got that right! 😁👍 Thanks for watching and I will talk to you later 🔧🔩
Good video again the dozer Was doing pretty good job too it quit running And I feel sorry for the camera when the backhoe sterilizer come down I did not know you had that much pieces of equipment and trucks. Thanks for showing us that and the yard looks real good keep the good good videos up be safe my friend
Thanks for always tuning in Glenn 😁👍 Glad you stopped by and have a great week. Talk to you later 🔧🔩
You did a great job, bud. Let me propose some of my organization habits- 1. Decide what you really need to keep, and what needs to go. Some of those vehicles are very weak examples that you know you won't ever touch. You have most, if not all of the money for your pole barn still sitting in the weeds out there. Which do you want worse? I asked you about that Dodge D250 back there and you said NOTHING is for sale...so I bought my own diesel truck:-) Keep or sell the engine and rear, scrap the rest. Don't even consider whether you should maybe keep one of the 500,000 d series trucks because you'll never find another one. Just be a shark out for money. The purpose of obtaining scrap or things to be turned into scrap is to make money, not to look like Fred Sanford😁 2. Try not to turn into a serial disassembler. The jeep is apart, the International wrecker is apart. Try not to take anything else apart until you are SURE that you are willing to brave the heat and hunger to see it through. Hang in there!
I forgot one...ask yourself if you can stand to have a cleared off lot with wide open areas. Not being mean but people who collect do so because they like filling open areas up. They don't REALIZE that, but that's why they do it. Also, per the sawmill, are you helping some of your stuff by owning it? Not being ugly, just posing tough questions.
You're 100% correct Tyler 😁👍 Been realizing a lot more since this whole cleanup has been going on. I think I've actually got my parents in the mode to sell some of their stuff as well. Would LOVE to say I won't take anything else apart but some things have to be parted out to sell the stuff I don't need. I may even change my mind on that soon. I hope things have been going well for you. Happy wrenching 🔧🔩
Oh, I get you. I know what you mean Tyler. The sawmill is not mine, but now that it's moved I think my dad plans to sell it. Same with the planers, He wanted to do something with them but life gets in the way. I have bought a truck or two but sold others. Trying my best to keep from filling it back up, I've already passed up on some amazing finds just cause I'm tired of mowing around everything as it is 🤣 Happy wrenching my friend 🔧🔩
The grader blade is cool but a 4in1 bucket is more versatile u can spread it quicker and cut it forward or backwards just roll ur bucket and open it just my 2 cents
Oh, you're 100% correct Cam 🙂👍 I've got a 4-n-1 bucket on my TD6 high lift but the transmission is making a horrible noise. Gotta investigate this winter and see what's wrong. So, I had to make due with the 6way. Thanks for the view and comment. Take care 🔧🔩
@@HODGEPODGEDODGEGARAGE allgood appreciate the reply
i wouldnt show up in the morning....i would wait until its dinner time. progress is progress. enjoyed seeing you again.
Thanks for the kind words J.C 🙂👍 I know you're busy so it really means a lot you took the time to stop by. I've been enjoying your videos and I hope you and Mr.s S are doing well. Have a nice evening and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
👍👍
Thanks Tom 😁👍
great video thanks for sharing looks much better its easy to pile up scrap but its hard to clean and organize it later on good job
Thanks for the kind words Howard! 😁👍 Very true, it's much harder to get cleaned up when it's piled all around. I hope things are going well for you. Happy wrenching my friend 🔧🔩
So for all those watching. The video makes rhe scale of things look so much smaller. Being there personally it's like night and day difference. A lot of work went into that clean up and it's so much better than tou can even begin to realize. 🎉
@graveloverlord thanks for the kind words and for also elaborating Dustin 😁👍 It's hard to tell on camera. Glad you stopped by 🔧🔩
Looking great my friend! No joke, it's a process and takes time. The layout makes for ease of flow! It's good to see you back in the mix! The ol' truck parked behind where the back hoe was originally at...💪💪💯💯 .. Stay safe and don't worry about constant uploading..though I understand! Blessings and respect my friend!
@1SmittysGarage thanks you for tuning in David. It truly means a lot my friend 😁👍 You know how things get sometimes. I hope you're doing well and have some time to wrench on stuff soon. Take care, be safe and happy wrenching 🔧🔩

Looks good, hopefully you’ll make a good amount of money on the scrap for your projects
@xozindustries7451 it helped out, that's for sure 🙂👍 The scrap money paid for the fuel and hydraulic hoses I needed for the machines to do the cleanup. Thanks for stopping by and for leaving a comment 🔧🔩
You can go to your local light company they will sell your Old old light poles by the foot my local light company that I have co-op if they put new power lines to your property you get the Old the old light poles
@garyeverhart2260 that's a great idea Gary! 😁👍 I've kicked the idea around before to use poles but that may in fact be the cheaper route to go. Glad you stopped by and have a nice evening my friend 🔧🔩
Debbie and i just watched the video. Debbie says she wantsyou to come here ad do the same.LOL. Eny Road you got it better organized. I simply havent been buying big items like tractors or vehicles ect. We sold three pickups this year. We are retired and still dont get much done.
I understand that 🙂👍 My parents have done the same, they rarely buy things anymore. I do want to meet you all one day, maybe get that White cab from you. 🔧🔩

Isn't it annoying how work gets in the way of the projects at hand? Well Zane, as a one man clean-up crew you are doing really well. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming as you can.

@ardtessa oh yeah, that's rough Ard! Hard to get the usual stuff like laundry and grass cut done. Hope things are going well and take care 😁👍
Another video so soon your gonna spoil us. It's looking great.
Trying to Derek! 😁👍 Thanks for the view and kind words as always. Have a great evening my friend 🔧🔩
Great to hear from you Zane! I understand where you are coming from on having time. Once upon, I had two boys, home maintenence and a full-time job as a shop supervisor at a plant. I was on call 24/7 for many years, and the early/late thing rings true. When something breaks, the machines dont run....etc. Now the kids are gone, Im disabled and my wife of 43 years passed last fall. Im almost 66. Time may become more plentiful as you get older, but you move slower and get just as much done as before. Organize and sort now, you will thank yourself many years later. You are like me, I have many projects, and that keeps life interesting. No getting burned out on one thing, LOL! Keep up the fine work, Zane. I'll be here waiting for your next hello! Cheers Terry
@terryfromsouthcarolina4601 thank you for the kind words Terry. It ALWAYS makes my day to see a comment from you 🙂👍 Getting organized and hopefully soon I'll be able to finish at least one of my projects. Gotta keep moving forward 😎🔧
As always, good to hear from you. You have done an excellent job on the yard. It was no small feat, considering your schedule the timeline is actually impressive. Just curious, I don't recall noticing the White cab, did I just miss it or is something else going on? It will be nice when you are able to post regular project videos again, but everything you make is enjoyable to watch so don't get worried about it. Stay well and thanks for posting...
Thanks for the kind words Mark, that truly means a lot 🙂👍 The white International cab was covered with a tarp in the past. It is my grandfathers 1977 IH cab on a 80's GMC Topkick frame. Has a 3208 Cat and 5 speed spicer. My dad was going to make a dump truck out of it but ran across this older GMC cheap. I may show that in the next video. Have a wonderful evening my friend. 🔧🔩
These beds look like were built way better than anything made today! You got me interested now in the history of Swartz Beds! Wonder if anybody makes a dual bed today? I think the closest thing would be a rolloff dumpster body
Thanks for the view and kind words 🙂👍 Schwartz went out of business in the late 90's to early 2000's. It's a shame. I actually ran across more info and brochures online. I plan on doing a video just on the beds here in the future. Take care 🔧🔩
